About Josiane

  • Registered Massage Therapist
  • Student of Osteopathy Manual Therapy
  • Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR-C

Josiane graduated in 2002 with a diploma in Massage Therapy from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy.

She is also currently a 3rd year student at the Canadian School of Osteopathy in Vancouver. This curriculum consists of 40 weekend sessions held over a 5 year period.

Throughout Josiane's career, she has gained experience with a wide variety of conditions and injuries.  Her practice spans all ages from infants to older adults. She attends courses regularly to keep abreast of current manual techniques.

Josiane's special interests are:  Whiplash, TMJ, head and neck injuries and the use of cranial osteopathy in these treatments. Using the four principles of Osteopathy, and extensive anatomy knowledge and palpation skills, she formulates a treatment plan unique to each client.

Furthermore, she loves working with athletes to optimize performance, to increase body awareness and to improve their physical literacy.   Her treatments aim to realign the body, balance the structures and allow proper movement.

As a kidney donor, Josiane has benefited first hand from manual therapy on scar tissue release and surrounding fascia work.  For this reason, she also has a special interest in working with scars. She has learned that working on removing adhesions from scars allows the tissues to glide, stretch and expand and also allows fluids to move through the area which is essential in the healing process. She works on scars of all nature and size from laparoscopic to bony breaks.

Outside of work, Josiane is a mother of 3 very healthy, active children.  They are involved in the Sun Peaks Alpine Racers as well as the Kamloops Soccer Club.  Her other passions other than osteopathy are running on forest trails, cross country skiing, pilates, mountain biking, downhill skiing, meditation and adventures with her family.  She has been involved in competitive swimming, contemporary dance, yoga and river kayaking.  She has also been known to dabble in activities such as cooking, playing guitar, singing, arts and meditation.

Josiane's most valuable gift is that of caring.  She deeply cares about my patients and their wellbeing.  She strive to continually upgrade and challenge her knowledge and self.  Josiane is accepting new patients and looks forward to working with you!
